In Erica’s Big Race: The Qualifier, Erica J. Blessings gears up to qualify for her first big cycling race! It’s not just any race. She’s racing with grownups — and she’s only nine years old. But she does not let that stop her, at least not at first. She straps on her helmet, heads to the start line, and notices she looks completely different than everyone else in the race. Her mother and brother cheer her on as she takes off. But three cyclists collide, then four cyclists surround her, then sweat fills her face. . .  
 
Then she remembers one thing that has never let her down.
